Keep Safe Scheme

WHAT IS THE KEEP SAFE SCHEME?

Keep safe is a new initiative led by Police Scotland to provide help to people in need. We provide safe places for the public whether they are feeling vulnerable, anxious or alone. While also raising awareness of hate crimes and increasing reports.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When a person enters a Keep Safe place and they may have on them a Keep Safe card. This holds their personal information. Such as their health needs (eg Insulin for diabetics), how they communicate and their emergency contact details. A staff member will comfort and communicate to the person to work out what they need. This may be just a quiet break from the city centre or for us to phone a contact from their card or the police if a crime has taken place.

WHAT BUSINESSES ARE INVOLVED?

Businesses in the Keep Safe network, once checked with police Scotland, will have a Keep Safe Sticker on show in their window displays.

These include:

The Overgate Shopping Centre

The City Centre Management Office

The Dundee Carers Centre

Dundee Sheriff Court

& All Dundee Libraries
